Tantric meditation practice uses sexual energy to activate Kundalini. It draws energy from the chakra below the navel through the sexual area to the chakra at the base of the spine. As energy moves through the sexual area, an internal male/female union takes place, a marriage of Siva/Shakti, Uma/Mahesh Vara, Yin and Yang, whatever one wants to call it. This union awakens latent Kundalini and moves it up the spine to the top of the meditation practitioner’s head. It’s a marriage of male/female that takes place in the sex chakra… the area of birth… the energy of life itself. Instead of giving birth to a son or daughter, this version of the immaculate conception enables one to give birth to their higher self. But the practice of Tantra is not limited exclusively to the sexual area in a human being. A complete transformation must take place in each of the chakras if one is to fully experience the essence of Tantra.

Sex is a mysterious subject sold to the public by divergent secular and religious mindsets, but in its most profound and raw state, sexual energy releases a force that rids one of dogma and repression. Almost every living creature has been created vis-à-vis the act of sexual intercourse.

…the practice of Tantra is not limited exclusively to the sexual area in a human being. A complete transformation must take place in each of the chakras if one is to fully experience the essence of Tantra.

One’s sexual preferences, whether they’re straight, gay, etc., do not deter the male/female internal marriage of energies, the union of Siva/Shakti that activates Kundalini. The union of male/female also purifies the chakra system and allows Higher Energy to nurture and develop one’s humanity.

The question always is: “How and when does this internal marriage take place in a human being?” It requires a highly developed chakra system and the power of chi consciously moved from the chakra below the navel through the sex to the base of the spine; it requires that the core be extremely powerful and a point in a triangle that connects the human with the spiritual. Meditation can build that kind of inner life and organically develop internal energy that will unify Siva/Shakti (male/female). This internal movement of consciousness can also be experienced during the act of sexual intercourse. If two people love each other unconditionally; if they both have highly developed chakra systems, the power of lovemaking can activate Kundalini. Each of the partners internalizes their will and draws orgasmic energy from the chakra below the navel to the base of the spine. The power of orgasm will awaken Kundalini. But a strong internal base is essential, a foundation that’s deeply rooted in the chakra below the navel will give one enough strength during the sexual act to keep the power of Kundalini from throwing one’s system out of balance…
